Synectics President Named Rotarian Of The YearHonored for "Exceptional Service Above Self" HUNTSVILLE, AL. - June 29, 2005 - Stacy De Smet, president of Synectics, has been named the Rotarian of the Year by the Rotary Club of Greater Huntsville. This award is presented annually and the recipient is selected by club members based on his/her service to the club, the community, and Rotary International. Rotary Club of Greater Huntsville President David Hargrove noted that although Stacy has only been a member for just over a year, she has significantly contributed to each avenue of service (club, community, international, and vocational). During the year, she has served as director of the speaker's committee and co-orientation director. In addition, she has contributed to several ongoing club initiatives to include the Rotary Educational Assistance Program (REAP), club newsletter, and the annual fundraising gala. In addition to her work with the Rotary Club, Stacy serves as an advisor to the University of Alabama in Huntsville's graphic design department. She resides in Madison, AL with her husband Paul, and daughter Alice.
